Review Thursday-Cover Girl Bombshell Volumizing Mascara

Cover Girl makes a claim with this mascara that the two-step system combines extreme volume with and intensifying top coat to make big, sexy bombshell lashes.  When I think of bombshell lashes, I think of big voluminous, false eyelashes type of lashes.  When I saw this mascara, and it's claim, I was hoping that it would do it.  I'm not a big false lashes person.  I love the look of them but honestly, can't stand applying them or how they feel on my eyes.  If a mascara can make it look like I am wearing falsies on a daily basis, then I will buy that mascara constantly.

Cover Girl has 4 different shades of this mascara-Very Black, Black, Black Brown, and Brown.  I have it in very black.  There are two steps to this mascara.  The first step is the extreme volume step.  The wand is similar to the lash blast volume mascara(at least that it was it reminds me of).  It is a plastic applicator wand that is tapered towards the end.  If you apply more than one coat of this step, do not wait in between coats for it to dry.  It will not work as it should.

The second step is the intensifying top coat. This step is supposed to darken your lashes to the darkest, most intensifying shade that it can.  You do not wait for the first step to dry before applying this step.  The wand looks like a typical mascara wand.  You can apply as many coats of this step as you want, just, like the others, don't wait in between coats.  The more of this one you apply, the darker that it gets.

I wouldn't call this mascara bombshell, because I don't think it gives that bombshell feel, but I do enjoy this mascara.  This is more than likely going to become my every day mascara, I like it that much.  I just wish it would give me that false lash look without having to wear false lashes.  I do have to say that this mascara is a PAIN to get off.  I just spent probably 20 minutes getting my mascara off alone.  I do not have an oil based makeup remover, just makeup remover wipes.  I did finally end up grabbing some olive oil and put a little on a cotton ball and it worked pretty good.  Looks like I am going to have to go get some makeup remover.  Wal-Mart here I come!  Time to feed my obsession?  I think so!

I got to looking at the pictures of my test run with this and while it doesn't give complete bombshell lashes, it did make them a lot bigger than I thought they did at first.
