Naked Basics is the very first Urban Decay palette that I have ever bought. I wasn't really into much eye shadow then, just foundation, blush, eye liner, and mascara. I finally broke out of my shell and I haven't looked back. This palette is just what it says, the basics. There are 5 matte shades and one shimmery highlight shade. The packaging on this is my favorite out of all the Naked palettes. It snaps closed, has a decent sized mirror and has a more rubbery kind of feel to it, and Naked Basics/Urban Decay is embossed on it. This is a great little travel palette, very small and compact and won't accidentally open.
Venus is described and a demi-matte, but it is no way a matte shade. This is a full blown white shimmer that is perfect for highlighting the brow bone for the matte looks that you get with this. This is the ONLY shimmery shade in this palette. Foxy is a yellow beige matte color that can also be found in the Naked2 palette. Walk of Shame is a more neutral matte taupe. I use both W.O.S. and Foxy as lid colors. Foxy is a little yellow for my skin tone but it gives me another choice if I'm not feeling W.O.S. Naked 2 is a lighter, cool toned matte taupe. This color is a lot cooler than Naked which is found in the original Naked palette. I use this color in my crease a lot, and on my lower lash line. Faint is a neutral brown matte color that I use as a defining color in my crease and outer "v". Crave is a darkest brown/black matte that comes off a slightly grey. I love this as an extra defining color, when I want to go in darker, I just blend this in my outer "v" with Faint and it comes out a gorgeous neutral smokey look.
These shadows are just like UD's other shadows, buttery, super blendable, easy to work with and just plain gorgeous. I have found so many different combinations and looks with this, it is surprising. This palette can be found at Urban Decay, Sephora, Ulta and anywhere else UD is sold for $27. Unlike the other Naked palettes, this does not come with any extras. It is the palette and that's it.
Recently, when UD launched the Naked3 palette, they also launched 4 new double-ended 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. These specific 4 eye liners are geared towards the 4 different palettes, so there is a Naked Basics one that I thought that I would throw in this review for you guys.
This double ended 24/7 Glide On eye pencil has colors that compliment the palette. Venus is just like the eye shadow, a shimmery white color. Crave, just like Venus, is exactly like it's matching eye shadow. It is a dark black-brown matte that comes off as slightly grey.
Just like with their other eye liners, these have great staying power and are really creamy. I am very pleased with how great this eyeliner goes with the palette and the whole product. You can find this for $16 at Urban Decay, Sephora, Ulta and any other place you can find Urban Decay at.
