Review Thursday-Benefit's Good Time Gals Set

I never really tried Benefit until I found this set shopping at Sephora.  I have always wanted to try Benefit things, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it since I am such an avid Urban Decay fan.  I am so glad I spent the money on this little set to try out a few of their things.  In this set, is a primer, a cheek and lip tint, and a luminizer.  They are deluxe sample sizes of these products, so there isn't much, but enough to try out the products enough to get a good idea if you like them or not.

  What you get-

  • "That Gal" primer-  a brightening face primer
  • Girl Meets Pearl- a face luminizer
  • Posietint- a pink lip and cheek stain

I tested "That Gal" primer for almost 14 hours to see how well it held up.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well it held up.  About halfway during the day, I started getting a little shiny, but I don't wear face powder so that might attribute to the shininess as well. I put my makeup on around 7-7:30 that morning and when I went to take it off around 9:30 it was *almost* as flawless as it was when I applied it that morning. As for the brightening aspect of the primer, I am not seeing it.  I am not sure if this is something that happens overtime, or if it is meant to be immediate but I do not see it right now.  IF this changes, I will update this review for you guys. I will definitely be purchasing the full bottle of this one.

I tried out Girl Meets Pearl today.  As a luminizer, I expected it to be able to be mixed in with my foundation to create a completely dewy finish.  That was a pretty bad idea.  It was too pinky for my skin tone to be mixed into my foundation like that.  I will be trying it over my blush to see it I like it that way.  As of right now, this is a total miss for me.

Benefit describes Posietint as a poppy-pink tinted lip and cheek stain and I couldn't agree more.  I am loving this color for blush and it will be great for a brighter color during the spring and the summer.  It just gives the perfect pinky flush to your cheeks.  I haven't tried it on my lips alone yet but that will be coming soon! I will definitely be repurchasing this and looking into the other tints that Benefit has.

All in all, I think that this was a good little "try-me" set that Benefit provides and is perfect for those that want to try Benefit without worrying if you wont like the product and wasting money.
